X-rays are an important form of diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians find out what is wrong with your sick pet. Most often, it is used to visualize the bones, lungs, and gas-filled organs. Here in Animed, we do not simply perform X-rays but we do it following the proper procedures and steps to ensure staff and patient safety, especially those of critical care.

As a clinic that commonly performs cesarean sections, we commonly use ultrasonography in pregnancy diagnosis and estimation of delivery date. We are well-equipped with the required skills and knowledge to diagnose many diseases/abnormalities.

We offer a wide range of tests either for checkup purposes or part of diagnostic workup in order to map out the best treatment plan for your pet’s condition.

Certain diseases cannot be treated with Western medicine alone. We stumble upon many incurable diseases that can only be managed and controlled to improve the quality of the patient’s life. TCVM acts as a great alternative treatment method in these cases. Animed’s Dr. Siew often collaborates with Dr. Hoo following surgical treatment by performing acupuncture and adding on supplementary herbal medications.

At Animed, we aim to provide the best treatment for your pet. This includes supplementary laser therapy that allows faster recovery by delivering light energy to target tissues in order to reduce inflammation and pain. The use of laser therapy in recovery is remarkable and versatile. We often use it as an added treatment for soft tissue (ligament and tendon) injuries, surgical incisions, and even chronic conditions of the joints.

Dr. Nadzariah Cheng is a well-known Veterinary Ophthalmologist in Malaysia, being one of the very few in the country. We are very proud and honored to say that she is also a member of our team in Animed, based in our Balakong branch. Often our vets (from other clinics as well) will refer to her to ensure our clients and patients receive the best quality of diagnosis and treatment.

Though some owners are reluctant, we assure you that the benefits of neutering your pet outweighs the cons. Neutered pets tend to be less aggressive, more affectionate, and have less tendencies to escape from home to look for a partner to mate with. Females will have significantly lower risks of breast cancer and infection of the uterus, which are influenced by sex hormones in intact pets. Similarly in males, we can reduce the chances of developing testicular cancer and/or prostate issues by castrating them. Additionally, neutering stray dogs and cats will mitigate overpopulation and reduce road-kill.

Ranging from growth removals, exploratory laparotomies, to life-saving surgical interventions; we are well-equipped with the skills and experience to handle various situations.

Whether for breeding purposes or emergency treatment of dystocia, our team is ready to assist and we are well-versed in the management of patients and neonates post-cesarean as well.

We offer various orthopedic procedures here at Animed. Other than the common traumatic fracture repairs (surgical and non-surgical) and amputations, we also perform palliative treatment of Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD), patellar luxation, and Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture. Dr. Hoo has also performed several successful spinal surgeries on patients that suffered from sudden paralysis prior to treatment, and has then become the referral surgeon by many well-known hospitals across Malaysia.
