Dr. Hoo Kie Ngie was born in Sibu, Sarawak. Since young, animals have been his passion, be it farm animals or pets. Dr. Hoo graduated from SMB Methodist, then attended University Pertanian Malaysia (University Putra Malaysia) in 1995, where he obtained his degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in the year 2000.

He joined another vet clinic in 2002 as a partner after which he established his own practice in 2007. He has 22 years of experience, with his main interest being orthopedics and obstetrics (cesarean). He also ventures into the field of neurosurgery.
